From The "Just Thought You Should Know" Dept.

I Still Detest Omaha. My mind hasn't changed. What's more, I detest the driving here. The weather is manic-depressive, and nobody can dress. Plus, the local newspaper is written by and for idiots.

I hate it all.

Okay, bye.

There are approximately 1.7 million reasons why it smells that way (and I'm not even counting the livestock).

You have my deepest condolences.

Thinking of you and sending some good vibes...

I have never been to Omaha, so I cannot contribute to the fascinating statements above. When I hear "Omaha" I think of the "Counting Crows" and their music is actually pleasing.

Thsnk you, Mona. I appreciate the sentiments.

I believe "Counting Crows" are from Cali, not Omaha. This no doubt has much to do with things...

But they have a song called "Omaha" - being from California I bet they would hate it there, too.

Does it make you feel any better that I right now I hate it here (the weather!), too?

Actually, no. But thanks anyway.

I've been to Cali, and there are some parts I don't dig, either.

Maybe the band members were on their way to someplace interesting when they stopped in Omaha to pee, or something...of course, there are times, people resort to using lyrics that work for reasons other than accuracy.

Perhaps they were just really buzzed at the time. I think that's more likely.

From the Counting Crows' song "Omaha":

"I think you’d better turn your ticket in
And leave your money right at the door"

Yeah, I think they got buzzed, paid their money at the ten-cent-to-pee toilet, and got the hell out of Omaha...

But, you know, I'm a poet. We do things like take prettttttty words like Omaha and turn 'em into stuff.
